UCEED

The Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) is a national-level exam conducted by IIT Bombay for admission to the BDes program at the following participating institutes: IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIITDM Jabalpur. Admission is done on the basis of UCEED scores through a Joint Seat Allotment Process conducted by IIT Bombay. Candidates who are issued a UCEED merit rank are eligible to participate in the seat allotment or counseling process. Note that UCEED scores are also used by result-sharing institutes. The result-sharing institutes, unlike participating colleges, however, will not participate in the Joint Seat Allotment process. Further, result-sharing institutes will only fill some of the available seats based on UCEED scores. This means they may also use scores of other entrance exam scores to fill out the remaining seats. The UCEED exam is conducted once every year, typically in the month of January. In the previous edition of the exam, i.e. UCEED 2023, more than 15,000 candidates registered for the exam, out of which around 13,500 candidates appeared in the exam.
